Trail Maintenance

MEET: Meet at the trail kiosk at the 3-way stop sign where Wightman Road meets Brink Road in Gaithersburg.

WORK: We will start by removing a log jam that is threatening the small wooden bridge over a stream next to the bridge over Goshen Branch. After that there is a culvert 100 yards up the trail to clean out. Time permitting, we will hike back to the other side of Brink Road to clear out another culvert and pull branches out from under the bridge over North Creek. I expect that we will be able to complete all four tasks and be back at our cars by noon.

Deer Hunt in Park

Special managed hunts aimed at thinning the deer population will be held on these days in the Great Seneca Stream Valley Park, Unit 2. That unit starts at Watkins Mill Road and goes upstream to probably Brink Road. During the hunt, the park will be closed.
